Miss Bee's Last Question for a While

Hey there prairie brides!

Today's question is kind of a deviation from usual. It's going to be about weddings but not really. Here goes the preamble.

Unfortunately, at the moment Miss Charlie and I are super busy (I have three jobs on top of a writing career, an encroaching trip to Scotland with my man and a very empty fridge; Charlie is scouring the seven seas for employment and trying to hone her craft of being awesome).

So, we are going on a brief hiatus! We'll be back sometime (no ETA).

BUT, should you still want to submit something to us (photography, vendors, etc), feel free, and we will get it up ASAP. Right now it seems like we are doing a lot of filler with very few subs, but hopefully we will come back with crazy awesome ideas, and most of all, time.

So here's my last question for a while:

Will You Miss LBP?

A Picture Says A Thousand Words--A Photo booth Says More

This is a trend that I feel is an amazing idea, wedding or any other kind of event you plan on running. Especially if you're going for the vintage/nostalgia feel that really gets your guests going and ramp up the excitement! Are you ready?! Get ready!

Now you're like "Oh my God, what is she talking about?" Well, c'mon. PHOTO BOOTHS of course! And now I hear you groaning, again (kind of like I was while researching this) "But there's nooo onnneeee in Winnipeg who rents them out, so stop teasing me with awesomeness!" Well prairie peeps, we were all wrong!

Why, you are asking, would I want this monstrosity at my fancy wedding? Well here are a couple of reasons that may convince you to get outside of your tulle encrusted box (taken from the PBROW site):

  • It's Unique! You'll be amazed at the buzz that's created once your guests see the booth.
  • It's Fun! You'll get pictures of your friends & family that you would never get otherwise. No-one can resist hamming it up, once the red light comes on!
  • Photo strips are wonderful mementos for you or your guests. You and your guests will enjoy having your picture taken on original film that will last a lifetime. Add a scrapbook for a truly treasured keepsake!
But that's not all! This company has AUTHENTIC, vintage photo booths available to rent (from the 50s and 60s . . . yes, in working condition!) So if you're still in it for the vintage, this is as close as it gets! Not only will they supply the booth, but props as well should you choose the Photo Pavilion (which lots and lots of swingin' couples are). And if Vintage isn't your thing, don't worry, they have New Generation, full colour photo booths in addition to black/white or green/white.

Aren't you pumped?! I am! I've been looking around for a company that does this in Winnipeg for a while, ever since seeing such successful and epic wedding photo booths on Rock n Roll Bride or Green Wedding Shoes. Really gals, I know you're already hiring a fancy photographer, but now you can let your guests in on the fun, not just your bridal party! It'll also be something epic your guests will be talking about years after the wedding. Who doesn't want that? Visit their site for rental info and what's included in your rental package!

Your Day, Your Way . . . With STYLE!

All right, so you're a bride who wants everything. Unfortunately, this often means you have to go EVERYWHERE and consult EVERYONE to get said EVERYTHING. It's pretty unwieldy, which I'm sure you're beginning to understand after following this blog. And you shouldn't have to compromise just because you're getting a headache. This is why today I present to you a one stop solution.

You want the destination wedding? Check. You want the event entirely coordinated? Check. You want unique invitations, an epic ceremony, and maybe even a custom wedding website? Do I have to say check another hundred times? Didn't think so!

Now I'm sure you're looking at me and going, "Oh yeah, right. In WINNIPEG?" Look at me with doubt again. Now smile, because you're wrong.

Taken from their main page:

"Our services are offered in a couture, boutique style where you, our guests, have services tailored to you individually.  Our sister companies combine together to offer our guests services such as:

  • Full Travel Agency Services:
We specialize in Destination Weddings & Honeymoons
  • Event & Wedding Coordination with full Event Décor Design
  • Graphic Design: Monogram or Logo Design, Custom Invitations;  Web Design (for business or wedding websites)
  • Paper Event Decor: Paper Lanterns, Parasols, Luminaries, & Fans in a wide range of textures and colours.
Our companies where dually created to take destination weddings and event management beyond.  Each department was developed separately in order to work individually or in a synergetic fashion.  We also have paired ourselves with some the best vendors/suppliers in the business.  All services can be  requested like a menu or made into a package.  By offering more, we are able to deliver our guests very best.  Simply said, your way, With Style! "

So this means you can Travel in Style, or if you're staying in Winnipeg you can have your Event With Style, and don't forget to Design With Style, which includes invitations, paper luminaries, or if you want to set up a Wed-Site! It's all here for you. Did I mention they also have a team of wedding commissioners to help you plan the ceremony down to a T specifically to your . . . you guessed it, style?

What else can I say about these guys, aside from the fact that you MUST follow them on Twitter/give them a ring? I know that when it comes down to my own special day, I'll definitely be calling on them to take care of all the hairy details, big or small!

Dress That Man Up

Now, I know we go to great lengths to show you all the prettiest dresses the world has ever seen (well why not? They're so SHINY!!) But today I'm taking one for the guys! Want to look dashing and debonair on your wedding? Look no further than the next shop I'm about to take you through.

Oscar de la Renta. Neil Allyn. Perry Ellis.  Fubu. Geoffrey Beene. These are just a few of the brand names that you'll find here. Whether you're looking to rent or to purchase, they've got you covered from tophat to tails. Shoes, ties, and any other accessories are also extremely accessible at Aldo, as well as custom tailored pieces made to fit your body type and style. Check out their Rental Page for examples of their delicious wares! Everything from classic black tux with bowtie to three piece white number, varied collar cuts and oooh, wow, looking at suits is just as addictive as looking at dresses. I just keep picturing my boyfriend in all of these SULTRY NUMBERS. Whew. <Fans self>

Oh man, I'm particularly loving the red and black one here. Or the pinstripe ensemble! I'm definitely a little nutty. But on this one, I think I'll let the man decide. It's his day too, and he's going to be probably just as stressed out and nervewracked as the bride, so him being comfortable and at ease in what he's wearing is key. Just as long as he's not wearing something out of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. SHUDDER.

So grooms, groomsmen, and little-boy-ring-bearers, take note! Aldo has everything for you. Don't forget to browse their selection of vests/waistcoats, shoes, ties, and more. Don't worry, they've even got shirts. You're set!

Where Every Bead is a Gem

Today I'd like to focus on personality - that little dash of you that every bride or groom wants to sprinkle on their wedding. And it's only fair! It is, after all, your wedding. So duh, why not?

Beyond the food, music, clothing or flowers, there is a small but very significant way to put your own spin on things--the wedding jewelry. No, I'm not talking about the ring! I'm talking about everything else that's shiny and wonderful in the ceremony.  So let's get started. From turquoise to jade to lapis, these three sisters have you covered--and gleaming.

Taken from their About Us page:

Turquoise
"We are three sisters wild about beads! Being surrounded by so many men: husbands, seven sons between us and four brothers to boot, beading lets us get in touch with our feminine side as well as strengthen our sister bond!

We’ve been creating out of our homes for five years, searching high and low for the best beads. We began travelling to find the best beads in the world. China, Thailand, Mexico and even in our own beautiful Canadian backyard, we have found some exceptional products that we wish to share with you."

Jade
Looking for custom jewelry for you and your bridal party? Or maybe a special gift for your mother and soon-to-be mother in law? Look no further ladies. Not only do these spectacular sisters offer custom jewelry consultations, they also offer parties and workshops. Imagine hunkering down with your bridal party for a relaxing night where you all design the bracelets and pendants you're going to wear on the day! It'd certainly be a nice reprieve from running around and hoping the bride doesn't explode on everyone from wedding-stress. (Eeek) And should beading really take your fancy, you can even come back to work on your project in the studio. Click here for class info!
Lapis lazuil

If you're already a savvy beader, never fear. Poco also sells the beautiful beads I'm sure you're drooling at, which opens up realms of creative possibilities. Semi precious stones, swarovski, fresh water pearls, to tools and giftware, they've got your back. Give 'em a call today!

Miss Bee's Top 5 Indoor Ceremony/Photo Sites

Ahh, more ceremony sites! Geez, you'd think that with all the press I'm giving ceremonies that they'd be a big deal or something! Well, this entry is to act as a pair up to my Outdoor Ceremony Locations post, because there are lots of us who don't want to chance the weather (beautiful options or not) on their special day. And you can still have an amazing ceremony/photography session without giving up the beauty. Here are my current picks for indoor venues!

Miss Bee's Top 5 Indoor Ceremony Sites

Taken from the site's History info: "When the former Canadian Bank of Commerce building, located at 389 Main Street, became vacant in 1969, the monumental and imposing grandeur that lay beyond the massive ornate bronze doors came to be admired but largely ignored. One of the grandest architectural buildings in North America was to remain vacant for over thirty years.

The twentieth century had brought new prosperity and Winnipeg emerged as the prairies'
financial centre. Winnipeg was at that time touted to become the "Chicago of the north"
and the financial centre of Western Canada. With many banks deciding to expand
their facilities along a downtown section of Winnipeg, the area became known as
"bankers row.""

Mmm, classy, elegant, sophistocated . . . there is no doubt that the Millennium Center continues to be a hot spot for weddings and receptions alone. To book this epic venue, definitely do it as ahead of time as possible, or else you're going to be sorely disappointed! Check out their Event Gallery to see if it fits your big day vision, and learn more about the wedding packages they have to offer! Probably the most luxe venue next to the Fort Garry Hotel (which is coming up below!)

Though I have yet to see a ceremony take place there, I do know that the library is an epic idea for photo opportunities (wedding, engagement, whatever!) and I've seen quite a few epic examples of this. This would be amazing for all of you book nerds out there, and for everyone who generally appreciates some amazing modern architecture! For more information on the library's hours, check it out here.

Probably my favourite place to go as a child growing up in Winnipeg. I always swooned at the Nonsuch, and absolutely adored the fake downtown complete with Charlie Chaplin movie theatre. Somehow, to me, there was so much romance amidst the exhibitions on our Manitoba history, and there seems to be romance beyond that too! Available for booking for large groups (receptions or ceremonies with guests up to 700!), You can recapture all your childhood fancies and tie the knot at one of the most epic and unique indoor locations in Winnipeg. Check here for rental info!

Um, seriously, what other Canadian city (or any city for that matter) has a legislative building whose architecture is modeled after the Occult? (Don't know what I'm talking about? Hit up the library and take a look at this book, The Hermetic Code by University of Winnipeg's Frank Albo). It's gorgeous, it's luxe, and it's available for wedding photography! Unfortunately, no ceremonies here (boo!) but, BUT, it is such a gorgeous venue for photos, I just had to throw it in there. Info about reserving the Grand Staircase can be found here.

Ahh, the piece de resistance. Fun fact: did you know that the artchitect who designed the Fort Garry Hotel went down with the Titantic? Well, this hotel gets more and more infamous the more you hear about it. Rampant ghost hauntings ring any bells for the seasoned Winnipegger?

But beyond ghosts and legends, the Fort Garry Hotel is the most luxe and grandeur you are going to get out of the downtown core for all your wedding needs. Rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception, you may even want to honeymoon here knowing that Ten Spa is within the grounds! They offer full catering, and even an online event planner to help you out with the process, taking down all your info and helping you choose the perfect event package for your needs. If you want more heapingfulls of elegance and sophistication in one day, and you want a one-stop-shop for it, the Fort Garry is for you.

---

Are five locations not enough for you to choose from? Still thinking of somewhere like the Burton Cummings or the Pantages Playhouse? The Assiniboine Park bandshell perhaps? Well, thank the good graces that someone came up with a WEBSITE for that! Click here for more info on event venues throughout the city of Winnipeg! Awesome resource, to be sure.

Manitoba Marriages Wedding Officiants

I seem to be on a ceremony kick lately! Indulge me, if you will. I think that, for the most part, the majority of wedding planning gets sunk into the after party, with very little thought on the actual part of the day that unites two people. I got curious and obviously started digging a little deeper (see my Helpful Ceremony Hints and my top Outdoor Wedding Sites), and realized that Winnipeg brides and grooms have a lot of options, especially when it comes to the officiant! So today's spotlight will be on a couple of interesting individuals who are there to bring you together (literally) on your day:

Gerrit Theule and Shyla Waldman are a pair of Winnipeg based wedding officiants who got together to form Manitoba Marriages in order to help not only Manitoban couples, but those living in North Dakota and Minnesota.

Taken from their About Us page, they "believe that you can have the exact ceremony that you want." They will help you write not just your vows but what you want your officiant to say, customizing your whole day exactly as you like it. They perform both religious and non-religious weddings incorporating exactly the elements that you want, and tailor everything exactly to you.

They are also availible to offer other services should you need them: Shyla is a trained chef, formerly of the award winning "The Tallest Poppy" in Winnipeg. Gerrit, on the other hand, is a professional classical singer, frequently performing in operas across the country. Having a trained opera singer perform at your ceremony would be epic, that's for sure.

I also really love their ideas section on their webpage, which lists the type of ceremonies they've done. I particularly like the theme weddings and the idea of a princess wedding . . . wait, what even is that? Time to break out the Google!

At any rate, what got me the most about these guys is the flexibility and the tone of fun that they convey. I'd certainly consider them, even if I was swayed by their past performing of a nudist ceremony. How can that be wrong? Haha!

Helpful Hints - Ceremony

Ahh, my favourite couple.
Mmm, I have been spending many a delicious hour poring over the internet for unique outdoor wedding ceremonies in Manitoba, and I realized that I came up with a few questions of my own. Aside from gushing over dresses and reception playlists all the live long day, you don't really step back and think of the planning that goes into the actual ceremony. It tends to get lost when you're coming up with favors and place settings. But um . . . it's the ceremony that denotes the marriage part, ya know!

So, here are a few helpful tips I've conjured for you if you're planning your Manitoba ceremony and you're scratching your noggin'.

Miss Bee's Helpful Ceremony Hints

1. Time

There are really no limits to when and where a marriage ceremony can be performed in Manitoba, as long as it's within the province. The only limits you're going to find are those that are set by the marriage commissioners themselves RE: when they are available to perform ceremonies. Most schedule them between the hours of 9 am - 9 pm. So yes, your midnight fireworks ceremony overlooking Falcon Lake is still a possibility, but definitely shop around for commissioners. You might even be able to persuade one out of their usual schedule. Tip with cake!

2. Location Location Location
Image copyright Invitations by Ajalon
So time's covered. What about the location? I absolutely love (and am probably going to commit myself to) the idea of an outdoor garden wedding. But unfortunately, even though it seldom rains in MB, it will probably come down JUST WHEN YOU DON'T WANT IT TO. Oh how many Thunder Rapids birthday parties did I plan until I learned? Too many. Anyway. Always a good idea to have an alternative! Or to look around at outdoor locations that might include an indoor option as well. The Gates would be my first thought for this kind of sitch. Want some outdoor ceremony site ideas? Check out this post I did a while back!

Speaking of outdoor sites, DID YOU KNOW that if you're going to wed at a particular park in Winnipeg, you need to buy a permit?  They also come complete with maximum capacities! Take a look at this page which lists these parks that require permits (not all of them do!) and who to contact. As well as the paperwork! (My fave = the informal gardens at King's Park ♥)

As for choosing the location (aside from outdoor or indoor), take into account your lifestyle and personalities. Love books? Millennium Library would make a great spot! (Upcoming entry on this soon, WINK). Maybe you love hanging out at your cottage? Exchange vows there, why dontcha! Or how about a sunset ceremony on the boardwalk at Winnipeg Beach? Tons of potential all over our fine city. Take advantage of it! It doesn't have to be expensive to be awesome.

3. Officiant or Marriage Commissioner

You should hire your marriage commissioner as soon as you've confirmed your wedding day and time. Most of the Manitoba commissioners prefer about a year in advance as well, especially if you're going to have your wedding during peak season (June - September). It's also pretty common that, during peak season, officiants will book more than one wedding per day during this time. So get your name in there fast!

Another thing I'd like to point out about your officiant or commissioner, is to build a healthy relationship with them. They are the ones uniting you after all, but they can also be a really amazing resource when it comes to planning the ceremony. They've seen quite a few, after all. Ask their opinions on stuff like symbolic acts (unity candles, the releasing of the key), readings, what they liked from various religious or non-denominational ceremonies, etc. Your commissioner is better than google, I'm telling you! (PS, We'll be doing a post on some awesome officiants soon.)

4. License to Wed

Next, I'd like to talk to you about one of those after-thought things that sometimes get lost in the tulle and four course dinners. I'll give you a hint. It's that little slip of paper that actually says . . . OH HEY. You're married. Yeah. Kinda necessary! (I had a friend who forgot to get theirs to nearly the wedding date! BAD.)

So if you're 18 years or older, you can go and seek out your license. Where do you get them, you may ask? Various jewelers, florists, wedding supply shops and printers throughout the Province issue marriage licenses.  As well, licenses are issued by the Vital Statistics Agency in Winnipeg, and by some government offices outside of Winnipeg. So they are pretty easy to get your hands on. Like a list of places in the Selkirk area? Click here! Right now, the fee for a license in Manitoba is around $100.00.

**Just FYI, when applying for a marriage license, both the bride and groom must attend together and produce documentation verifying your age and identification.  Acceptable forms of identification are things like birth certificate, driver's license and/or passport.

Any other burning questions on your minds about your ceremony ladies and/or gents? Feel free to leave them in the comments!

My Secret Garden

I know my flowers, and I know my city, and believe me, there is a load of talent here. If you want unique, designer, gorgeous and all around lovely, then you need to dip into the extraordinary world of My Secret Garden Design and Event Planning.

Original Albert Street location. Photo copyright LP Gregory on Flickr
Previously located at No. 84 1/2 Albert Street in the Exchange (they are moving to the new address below!), My Secret Garden started out as a home based business, which quickly developed a sizeable event/wedding clientele (for good reason!) Part Harry Potter, part Dickensian Curiosity Shoppe, the store was formerly located in a turn of the century former carriageway, from which tearing yourself away used to be impossible. I've definitely had the pleasure of visiting them on one of my many walks through the Exchange, and it's always been a delight. Whether you're looking for a same-day takeaway bouquet (oh God, the rhymes!), or 100 centerpieces for a gala, they can set you up.

Not just looking for flowers? What makes My Secret Garden unique is that they not only specialize in the floral accents, but are also an event planning and consultation firm. They offer event planning, rentals, eco options, garden advice, and gorgeous gifts all in one location. One stop shopping for the win here, ladies and gents!

What cinches it for me is the Bonny Frasier's (owner and designer) philosophy:

"If I can create something beautiful, that touches someone on an emotional level and also pushes the boundaries of traditional floral design, I will have been successful at turning that passion into a thriving  business."

Here here : )

To view more sensational images from this amazing indie Winnipeg business, check out their galleries, or even their blog, which provides a few more epic photos from their various events about town (so much eye candy, eee!)

Although they are no longer located at the 84 1/2 Albert Street location (tear), they are still available for orders via phone or email!  Their epic services are also still available, including having unique hand-tied bouquets, roses, lilies or orchids delivered to you or a loved one on a monthly basis, and other offers for annual special occasion deliveries, roses, and pre-ordering discounts (see Shop Flowers for more details).

Miss Bee's Big Gay Marriage Question

Yes, this is a hot button topic. I realize. But because of that I expect a conversation to be sparked, guys! Help me out here.

To get right to the point, I am not against gay marriage. Those who are baffle and frighten me, but to each his own. I personally believe that everyone has the right to a marital union in the eyes of their state, province, or country, despite sexual orientation. I think for a society that claims such forward thinking open-mindedness to still be reserved in the slightest on the topic is a backward one. I think I want a just world that treats every human with fairness under the law, at the very least, so that when my children grow up, gay or straight, they'll feel safe in their love. Most importantly, I think that not all of you future Prairie Couples are strictly Bride & Groom limited. Nor should you feel you ever have to be. Ever.

Phew. That being said though, unfortunately, these are not the views of the majority. Or of those who control and mitigate the unions, primarily--the Justices of the Peace. But should it be up to them? Should they have all of that power, and allow themselves to be so swayed by their own beliefs and predilections that it should limit the opportunities for a well-rounded relationship between two people?

So I'm going to put it to you bluntly now and cease the rambling:

Should Justices of the Peace, or Any Wedding Officiant, Be Allowed to Refuse to Marry Gay Couples Based on Their Own Beliefs?

My lips are zipped. So talk to me!

A Little Artistry

Time to sneak some home-grown prairie love into your Friday, ladies and gents! I love doing features on local Winnipeg wedding vendors. I live vicariously through not only the epic services they have to offer, but the knowledge that they are the sweet hidden gems in my hometown.

TEARS, SNIFF. Moving swiftly onward, because we have just the person for you today!

Though it's often one of the things many brides tend to 'leave to the last', having a makeup artist on site for your wedding (as well as the photography session afterward) can be a super-godsend! Touch ups will be required, and smudgings/smearings will occur a lot more often than you think. (Especially if it's a hot outdoor wedding.) And there is definitely one person I can recommend to have on your team. Yes, it sounds like a movie set, but it basically is on your wedding!)

Garden of Earthly Delights

Ooh look at all the pretty colours, the fancy linens, the delicious food! Not to mention all of the Hummers you rented to ferry your bridal party from the ceremony to the reception. And all that paper that you consumed to bring the day together: save-the-dates, invites, place cards, guestbook. And on, and on. You probably don't realize it, but having a big wedding has an immense ecological footprint. There's a lot of waste and a lot of unnecessary consumption, but we're usually way too busy having a good time to notice.

Of late, thankfully, a lot of brides are planning their nuptials with specific attention to green alternatives. Giving baby trees as favours, using recycled paper for place cards, or making the flower arrangements from what grows in your mom's garden. All really great alternatives to be sure! And vendors are following attentively with their own epic means of satisfying green brides!

So where can you find something fresh, new, and awesome my little prairie brides?

You want your mind blown? Well my friend, you surely came to the right place today. Oh dear. I stumbled upon these guys while I was looking for Winnipeg invitation shops, and it popped up rather innocuously. Seemed like a place that would have some sweet designs for me to peruse on my lunch break.
Sweet is an understatement.

This is probably one of the greenest invitation initiatives I've ever seen, AND it's Winnipeg-grown! (Oh lord how I will be pun-ished for that one). To get down to the basics, Botanical PaperWorks uses printable seed paper, a product they've developed that, when planted, composts away leaving wildflowers behind! Some classics you'll behold are Bird's Eye, Black Eyed Susans, Snap Dragons and more! (SWOON!) The secret is in the seed-embedded paper, which is mainly collected post-consumer waste from businesses and schools. This act itself saves local landfills 10 tonnes of paper per year. That's definitely not just peanuts.

Oh dear. This is something that has caught my heart very quickly. Because not only is it incredible ingenius and romantic, the entire company has a strong Eco Commitment mantra which applies to all of their products, including the wrapping the products come in (biodegradable, compostable corn plastic). They've also reduced their use of office paper, are members of the Green Hotel association, and many of the team members volunteer in local schools and non-profit groups to teach the three Rs to the young folk.
SO. What does all this super amazing stuff have to do with weddings, I hear you quivering? Well let's see! They offer a wide collection of invitations, wedding favours, thank you cards, place cards, and even confetti! You can also purchase the paper on its own and print out your unique design at home. And even aside from wedding stationery, they carry other promotional items (journals, post cards, calendars, business cards!) and gifts. Check check check itttt! Shop online or in store, whatever you fancy.

Instructions for planting your seed paper are here, along with a few delicious pics of customer-results! Any other questions, you can definitely hit up their very helpful FAQ. How are you not rushing to pay them a visit?! If I were you I'd be jumping in my '92 Grand Am and be jetting it down there faster than you can say biodegrade! All in the name of green, prairie brides. After all, you want to keep those wheat fields lush!

Plan to Have a Planner

When you're surfing through wedding blogs, like me, the a never-satisfied-addict does, you start to realize how much there is you have to juggle when planning your own wedding. Some of us are extremely organized event divas who can manage a thousand things at once like a multi-armed goddess and never break a sweat. Others probably have lives which are already being juggled enough as it is, so when it comes down to picking out table cloths, centerpieces, or save-the-date cards, it can seem scary. The potential for details to get lost or out of control mounts, and when the stress culminates, we get the unfortunate bride/groomzilla syndrome (remember our Big Question on that?). No one wants that.

So what do you do? Maybe you have a really bubbly, problem-tackling maid of honour to rely on; you are a lucky lady then. If you're still feeling overwhelmed, experts do exist. And weddings are their zone.

The one major pro about wedding/event planners right off the hop is that they already have established relationships with wedding vendors in your area, which will make dealing with bakers, photographers, or even venues much easier to handle--you might even score a deal out of it! Though it is an extra expense, you have to consider what a perfectly executed wedding vision is worth to you, and if you really have the time, patience and fortitude to manage it all on your own. If you do, more power! If not, here's one of the best Winnipeg alternatives:

Member of the 2011 Wedluxe Glitterati (so awesome!) and run by the fabulous Emma Singh, I have heard nothing but praise for this amazing and innovative event company. With over fifteen years of experience in event management, she leads an epic team that zeroes in directly on your goals and needs. They'll execute your vision so well, in fact, that you're going to be all sorts of confident in your wedding. Imagine that, breathing a sigh of relief and being allowed to enjoy one of the most important/craziest days of your life. These days, UNHEARD OF.

So what services do they provide? Hourly consulting, month of and event day direction, down to design, decor and promotions. They also specialize in ethnic, outdoor and eco-friendly weddings! Interest piqued yet? Maybe you should check out their portfolio or contact them to book a consultation. I'm going particularly nutty at the wedding portion of the portfolio, because it's chock-a-block full of ideas!

Bottom line: it's always nice to be able to trust someone to plan your wedding and have it go off just as you've always pictured it. And to be there for you in the case of a dire cake/dress/flower emergency that, on normal occasions, would have you on the verge of a volcanic meltdown in front of 200 friends and family. Relax. Breathe. Emma's got you.
