Second off...First off, Happy Birthday Miss Charlie!
Second off, Hi Miss Bee!

Alright - I'd like to start by saying that I was always one of those girls. A few extra pounds, a few extra thoughts, and one date in high school. I had zero confidence and all I ever wanted was to "fit in". I hate those words. Especially considering I never "fit" anything, whether we're talking social cliques or popular clothing. University was a god-send of like minded people. College was even better.

What is beauty? Confidence. Self-awareness. Knowing who you are, and being happy to be that person. That takes a long time to figure out, so I'd say that beauty is, above all, a journey. And how can we be who we are, when we're constantly trying to change our physical form? What's with sixteen-year-olds getting plastic surgery?

I fully support being healthy, and obesity is a serious problem. Exercise does wonders for your physical and mental health. Eating well helps give you energy throughout the day so you can go on being amazing! But 1500-calories a day? Come on! The only thing you can do on that is be a zombie. Let's celebrate delicious food and share it with some amazing people.

I'd like to leave you with this link to Katie Makkai's amazing poetry slam on the word "Pretty". It's not exactly wedding related, but I think her message is one that every girl needs to hear.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M6wJl37N9C0

Thanks Miss Bee and Miss Charlie!
KatAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
